Hi,
I am pilot holding Canadian CPL and looking forward to get in airlines via line training. While searching online, I came across Skies website and contacted them about the programs. They provided me with 737 Line Training Program brochure and also would need the type rating to join LT. It is going to be expensive. Therefore, I want to know if it is worth it! Since I live in UAE, it is best for me to stay here and work. Anyone out there to guide me on SKIES and other alternate options!

Notam ....skies

Dont Trust Them Buddy

Save Your Money And Spend Wisely

Rather Do your Tr Directly From Cae and Then Look For Line Training Options

Also Try Intercockpit And Oxford, Way Better Than Anyone

Dont Go For Them, They Have this Habit of Running Away With the Money

Even the Imaged Shown On skies are from their previous website Rj Flight Academy - Show Managed by Capt Mazin

Which i believe are no more traceable and bankrupt

@thegreatflyer
I appreciate your help! I see in the previous posts that you are the only one speaking against skies. That is the reason now I have second thoughts about getting trained with skies. Is it possible for you to explain me what u have been through that make u think about them this way. The reason I need to know that is, as u might be aware about the culture in U.A.E. And me being female pilot, my parents want me to work here in U.A.E and skies is my only option to airlines. And if you would like to share your experience, it might be of lot of help to me making right decision! Your help will be highly appreciated.

Hello RAK123, are you with RAK airways? which type aircraft you enroled for with skies? actually I am thinking to enrol with them for the airbus 320 ... to be honest I've been so confused after what I read here but my father contacted the CAE Dubai and JATS asking about them and the answer he got is to go for it and they are well known in both centers ... I aslo visited their page on face book and it looks wow so me and my father will fly to dubai to meet them in their office in dubai airport.
would you mind to tell me when are you planning to start your training ... maybe I will be your training partner

Here's a thought for you blokes.

Go out and get a job the normal way. Interviews and hardwork!! Not just handing over cash to pay to fly you morons.

Idiots. Jobs are meant to provide a source of income, not become an expense. You lot are truly gullible.

wanaflyjet and aviatior check your PMs. Ive dealt with skies and other agents in the past, I dont agree with their schemes. You might end up getting 500 hours on type? then what? you'll be at 775 hours which is still not marketable. They can think of any reason to boot you out if you dont meet the standard and you would have wasted your money.

General Information

Hi All

I can imagine for those of you who desprately wanted to fly, its not easy to jump direct to certain type of aircraft, and some thrid party company may use the opportunities to make money too, make sure you search the company who ever listed here, if they are new, they may be good or may not be good, but last experience show that some have been disappointed, the school mention here or websites in this discussion DOES NOT have UAE GCAA Approval, they are merely brokers / Agent or third party

My suggestion to choose the training school are :

1. Ask your school about their Organisation Approval, either JAA / UAE GCAA TRTO, or FAA Part 142 for Aircraft Type related, if they have its good, else if they are not approved school, you may want to see what agreement they have in place with other training center for simulator is it Dry lease or wet lease
2. Once you identify the Training Certificate, see their Training specifications, what training specification they are authorise to perform, eg initial Type Rating, Recurrent, Instructor or examiner, if they have it means you are save, else ask if they have agreement with other TRTO
3. Once they have proper agreement, then you are save to do Type Rating Training
4. Whats next, off course you want to make sure you have the airlines to fly with, in this case, ask the TRTO or who ever offer you a job for flying, they have agreement with the airlines, offcourse you can ask them to delete the commercial part, but you need to see if these are in place.
5. If those item are not possible to obtain, and you want to try your luck, go ahead, but do it safely, eg: place money in phases, show them your account that you have fund, and you want to pay by phase, example if they are asking USD40K you may want to pay say 30% when you start ground school Type rating, another 30% second phase of the simualtor, then another 30% when you have letter offer to fly with the company.
6. If you are not sure, I recommend you contact directly the operator, as most of the operator in UAE have authority to accept any pilot with out type rating and the company may make specific agreement that if you do your type rating, you are willing to pay the operator extra due to missing his intructor for their line flyings etc

I hope this is a little informative

skies aviation

Hello Andrw, first of all I am not here to fight with you beause I dont know you or maybe i met you there but for sure and IF you did your training with them and it was not successful then there is one reason and only, you are one of these "pilots" who doesnt deseve to fly the Jets, skies instructors are very well known by names in Dubai, they are captains and examiners for major airlines in Dubai, no one will pass the program if he over loged his loogbook somewhere, skies will try and try and try to get you up to the mark where you will deserve to fly a pax jet, the rest is all on you if you work hard or not.

my advice for all the guys who read this, if you are not serious and you know yourself dont have a solid fundation in your cpl training then skies is wrong for you, go somewhere els to get your type rating done, these guys in skies are not joking, you will never pass with them if you are not a serious pilot.
i like the chamber of commerce .... man they are a TRTO not a supermarket

SKies

Guys i have to accept with what wannafly had posted . You must get trained by them to know how things happen with skies . There is no point reading these forums time and again coz obviously, there are gonna be guys who praise them for everything (right from training to their professionalism let alone their instructors whom i personally felt was a gift to get trained with ) and few guys claiming them to be bogus . From a personal point of view, these guys are very good . Don fall for all the nonsense people come up with on these blogs . Anyone with a descent internet connection and a heart full of craziness can defame an institute, but at the end of the day it is wannabes like us who keep missing out on some real good quality training . Keep it mind that as the name of the blog suggests,it is a rumour forum . Speak to a couple of guys ho have trained with skies to find out the good picture . Good luck.....

Skies Aviation

Old story this....when someone seems that speak against bad schools..magically in few moments hundred of people comes out....and they say that even cae itself Oxford intercockpit are nothing compare to this or that school...
What I've learned Who do that for sure speak about bad place and people....they try to cover what it's for real....be aware folks, you re might giving a lot of money to someone that can run away in a short period!trust to Who gives founded considerations...and at the moment Who did that had the right to say that is s#*t!
