Is foreign Class II medical sufficient to convert RTR (P) to 20 years?

Hello Friends,
Well I wanted to know weather if foreign Class II medical sufficient instead of class I to convert RTR (P) to 20 years?

As my foreign class I medical is lapsed only class II is valid, so do I did to do my classI again or submit my documents with my class II?

I have the rest of other documents like the Annexure 1A, Cop 23 and RT form its only this medical that is confusing me.

For all those who converted their RTR (P) to 20 years please share your expeirience.

Thank You,
Skylon.

hi there, well if class 1 is the issue, many countries have their medical centres in different countries, as to assist the crew, look under medical centres in abroad under your respective civil aviation website, and as long as my experience of a a valid med is concerned, out of my three friends who submitted without a valid class 1 only one of them got rejected for a med, so he did it in India and submitted again. I guess they have different rules for for different ppl . But if u r holder of a PPL then a class 2 is sufficient, acc to international rules.

Well I am a CPLholder, I think I will apply with my Class II if there is any issue with medical I will get my Class I Medical done again.
Also my 30 hrs will get expired within 4 months time so will there be any issue if those people reply to me say in about 2-3 months to do my Class I and also say that my 30 hrs will get expired by next month and inform me to do those 30 hrs flying again. I hope there wont be any issue like that!!

I have heard that the process for getting RTR P for 20 years takes about 4 months.

I hope to get more inputs from other PPRuNe members.

Thks!

the safest possible would be to renew your foreign class 1 in India, then atleast there is no possible rejection as long as we could think of, ultimately you are the PIC .

I agree with that but as I have time I think its good to give it a try with Class II
As 2 of your friends got RTR for 20years, so did your other friend get the RTR for 20 years after doing Class I again??
lets see what other members can say about it.
If majority say that a Class I is a must then ok will do Class I otherwise Class II.
