Angel Salaries of IndiGo co-pilots

One place I saw it was 1.5 lakhs per month.. I don't know if that includes allowances and productivity linked incentives.. This is important because one has to invest half a crore before getting a job with IndiGo.. So just to repay the sum invested by your dad, it would take 32 months and that is about 2 and a half years and there is no guarantee you would be placed but I think someone with sufficient personality points and willing to work hard with the required expenditure should make it there into IndiGo's cockpit.
I would be much more happier if those monthly incomes are bit more than 1.5 lakhs and I am not sure if its basic pay + PLI + allowances = 1.5 lakhs or just the basic pay is 1.5 lakhs.
And if someone has an idea how much time it would take to be a Captain and info about his salaries.. that would be helpful as well.

sad that a pilot starts a thread like this.
no words for this one mate, nothing that bad comes to my mind.
try cleaning the cockpit window of an Indigo Airbus airplane from outside & knock & ask the captain and F/O their salaries.

What's wrong with his question? He is being sensible and trying to make a smart decision about his future.

If your going to invest money into a program like this, you have every right to inspect the offer that is on the table afterwards.

If I knew the answer to your question I would gladly tell you.

9flyjet9 crawl back under your rock.

stereotypes

Sad that you are victim of one of the stereotypes attached to money. A more rational answer was expected from a future pilot. I have a BB gun levereged solely for dealing with such kind of people. Don't put your future in stake just because of loosing your cool over a thread...

9flyjet9 crawl back under your rock.....hahahahaha.....

haha PT6A how have you been doing dude.
everyone including he knows that a F/O makes around 1.5 lacs INR man....Now a few 100 or 1000 Rs here and there,, depending on no of hours and airline,, for that you have to be hired by the company and your 1st pay cheque will answer the exact amount..
common guys..

That's bcoz only an idiot like you will not hesitate to spend half a crore of his dad's money without doing any research. And needless to say not every idiot like you will land a job by simply throwing half a crore at it. Give the guy some credit for being a little smarter than you are. Enough said.

why everybody is showing so much of sarcasm.....????

The person who started this thread was thinking whether its smart enough to spend around 100 thousand dollars for getting a job which will take him 30-35 months to get back what he has invested. who knows how he is planning to invest.....???. May be through Loan, selling properties, moms ornaments etc etc. He has passions but at the same time he doesn't want to trouble his dad too much.....

If anybody knows how much a 6E FO gets then Post it. Otherwise ignore it. Now a days these forums have become a forum to spit each other and a platform for sarcasms...!!!

My dear brothers, Please help each others by posting new opportunities, own experiences, Exam & interview details who attended etc. Please avoid fighting with each other. Already we Pilots have the bad name of "UNITY LESS Craps " from decades.

Regards

I think Indigo FO's are paid slightly below the average standards.

I believe 1.10 is the actual figure. Including perks and before taxes.

Surprisingly AI seems to be paying better than everyone else these days.

@UnrewardedG

If I tell you that your ROI is within a year will you go for it or on the other hand if I tell you that it comes out to be around 4 years, will you drop the idea of becoming a Pilot?

Money will be there once you become something, just keep it in mind that you will need half a crore to do what you really want to do, if of course you really want to. Don't just think about money It'll come with time. But there is lot more to it when it comes to being a pilot.

It's around 1.5 on avg not just in Indigo but in any other airline in India as well.(answer to your question)

The OP is quite smart in thinking about how he will manage his finances.

I would hurt my self-respect by working as a pilot in India if I'm going to be working with jerks like 9FLYJET9 and hifly787. Their style of posting shows the kind of scum they are...

Surprisingly AI seems to be paying better than everyone else these days.
But the catch is about when the pay will actually arrive!

Hi,

Do not think about salary as a first officer in Indigo. Even if it is slightly less initially, there would be upgrade from junior co-pilot to co-pilot and then senior co-pilot in the company. Also in approx 5 years down the line you could get upgraded as a captain.

Worst come worst in present scenario it is the best airline in India to work and there salaries are also on time.

So if you can make it to an Indigo cockpit it would be a great thing.

And 9FLY , I believe his question is valid. There are people in India who believe in spending there parents hard earned money wisely and there are the rest like you. So please give space for others too...

Appreciate your concern over this issue.
For a guy who comes from a middle class family his passion has to be decided accordingly to his family income where his father earns just about 30,000 thousand per month.

My 1 friend is from a middle class family like me, he had a big dream like all of us do, so he spend about 22 lakhs for his CPL and then he did a instructor course for about 6 lakhs as there were no jobs in India only option was TR but that was about 18 lakhs that is out of our reach ( So total 22 + 6 = 28 lakhs)

He got a job as a instructor.
Now he does about 2 hrs of flying everyday earns about 20$ per hour i.e about 40$ per day = 40*43NZD= 1720 Rs/day. so 30 days is about 52000 Rs per month, but The house rent (sharing) + traveling + food itself is 1000$ per month so that is 43000Rs, so money earned is 9,000rs per month.

So start is not so good but at-least he has the job and building hrs on the 152.
He will later upgrade and become a C cat instructor. that's about 1 year from now.
Then his per hour rate will increase.

Life is not so pleasant , but there is a ray of hope.

It all depends If you get in an airline then you will recover the money in about 3years max or even less than 3 years. OTHERWISE its gonna be a big problem for a middle class guy.

I'm not sure how accurate this is, but this is what I have heard.

Junior co-pilot 80K, 6 months later 1.5, senior co-pilot 2.25, Capt 4.5-4.7 all excluding tax.

Good thread. Am glad some people are looking at the salaries and not just jumping in to aviation, based on media speculation, like they did a few years back! I remember telling my parents that I wanted to be a pilot back in 1999 when I finished 10+2. Parents laughed at me. No way they said - could not afford it or even bother with loans. So that was it. And looking at the current situation, I am glad I did not jump in to it.

In India - aviation was never meant to be for the middle class guy. Its for the elite upper middle class and upper class, who could probably afford it. @Torque - life is never pleasant when you have loans hanging over your head. But looks like your friend is working towards his goal and will soon have his dreams come true.
