Recieved this from flygosh today... any sceptics care to comment?
My main concerns are the $200 for the assessment, (but it seems that this is becoming the norm.), the possible wrong number/address of the Jakarta Aviation Training Center (see link) and the questionable spelling/grammar
Simulator center in Jakarta
Kind Regards

First of all I want to apologize if I am not able to answer/reply to some of your question as there are simply too many applications. I will however try to answer
some of the common ones below. Don't worry as we will have a Q and A session during that day and all your questions will be answered. My advice is to study up your A320 and CPL stuff and from my past experience, those candidates who ask a lot end up failing the interview and not get the job. Your goal ( for now ) is to study hard and pass the interview and make sure you are successful and selected for the job.
Who are you Andy and what is Flygosh? You can read my profile at
http://flygosh.********.com/2011/11/i-was-selected-and-featured-in.html and recently featured in Aviation jobsearch as a cabin crew and pilot expert at

If I pass the interview, when will the training commence? If you pass, they will process your work permit and training will commence immediately provided you pay the first installment of USD10k
When will the results be out? As soon as possible and may even be the very next day itself. The airline want you guys to start training as soon as possible
How many candidate will the airline select? We will chose the TOP four. However in total most probably select 12 people with the remaining 8 on standby
( no guarantee of slots for this program and you are free to apply for other jobs ). The idea behind this is in case any of the top four pull out or when we do a second and third intake, we already have ready candidates in the holding pool.
Is the course fee of USD49k to be paid at one go? No it will be broken into 3 installment ( if you pass )
a) USD 10k upon agree to join this course
b) USD 20k when all permit ready and 1 week before you are due to jakarta
c) final payment USD19k, after sim and before start line training
Is the booking fee USD 200 or 49k? Obviously it is USD 200 and not USD49k
Who will pay for my travel, visa, transportation and accommodation cost ? You will have to bear the above cost and just to inform you that jakarta airport does provide visa on arrival services.
How much is the salary? Since this is a new program, the salary has not been finalize yet but " tentatively", you are looking at about
USD2000 per month
Do I get a job contract after I complete 500 hours on type A320? The answer is
NO as this program is to help you obtain 500 hours on the A320 so you will be more marketable in the future. However, once you are here, do network around and with your hours on type, you will be ahead compared to the rest.As we all know in aviation, is not
WHAT you know but
WHO you know.
Should I go for this? Best you read my advise at
http://flygosh.********.com/2011/01/have-interview-coming-upshould-i-go.html
Why should I pay since the world owe me a living and I should get everything free for life? We spend a lot of time and resources to get this opportunity to help you kick start your career in the airlines. If you have this mindset, I guess is best we do not waste each others time so we can focus on candidates who are serious in their career . A lot of potential pilots took the risk to pay for flight ticket and hotel to come to jakarta, knock on doors to try their luck and most end up go back empty handed. Imagine the amount of money we save you guys with this opportunity.
Tell me how do i SECURE the slot so that I don't lose this GOLDEN opportunity ? Please bank USD 200 booking fee in to the following account and send us a payment slip as proof
Bank: OCBC NISP
Branch: Kemang Pratama – Bekasi - Indonesia
USD Account no: 1048 0000199-2
Swift Code: NISPIDJA
Beneficiary: PT. Avia Integrated Indonesia
How long is the recruitment day? It will be a 1 day event so make sure you arrive Jakarta on 16 oct ( tuesday ), and you can go back on 19 Oct unless you wanna stay here for holiday. As for hotels, you can check out
booking.com and
agoda.com or just google online.Plenty of hotels in Jakarta depending on your budget.
This is fake and a scam? I guess that is why you see some pilots are flying and some remain jobless for years. The difference between them is one
take action and the other one procrastinate and complain
and hoping that one day miracle will happen and pilot job will drop from the sky.
I will be there during the test and looking forward to see you guys soon. The airline has given you an opportunity, now is up to yourself to grab it and play your part.
Remember to send me your payment slip ( USD 200 booking fee ) as proof to confirm your slots. Pls do not reply to this email as I may not be able to respond.
Regards,
Andy
