IGRUA gives only 20Hrs of Total Flying (10Actual + 10 Sim)
wheras to fly Airbus you need 25Hrs min in which not less than 15 Actual and not less than 10hrs on sim

so after passing out you are left with only three airlines
Jetairways---normal competition
Spicejet----no body wants to be there (i'll rather sit home)
AI exp------they are hiring TR'ed ones
AI 777------ ''JOBLESS JOB''

so
no IndiGo
no GoAir
no IA

so the figure is

24.50Lakh + 1.5 Lakh + 5hrs ME wich is approx 1.5 Lakh hence either you pay extra to them or do some majuri elsewhere

if its daimond DA42 then you are fked because you will have no option but to pay extra as this aircraft don't exists in India accept for IGRUA and NFTI...

27 Lakh max

If you were on the 777 then this would have been the last thing you could probably say, think before you say something like this.

@vserisn

agreed mate these are very irresponsible comments by planeboy , no matter what the airline is an aircraft is an aircraft and there is a reason why 2 pilots are needed ..... lets start respecting all pilots and airlines and stop boasting about flight schools and training
if somebody is is good sooner or later he will get the desired results.........

I have always thought that the 25 hrs ME requirement ( max 10 hrs on the sim ) was set by the airlines because that was the multi engine experience level of those who came from IGRUA

@planeboy
Even CAE NFTI advertises ( not sure about the present ) 190 hours single and 10 hours multi on the DA 42 for 31 lakhs
Where did you get the extra 5 hours from ?

Another question
Why is that A320 operators and A320 TRTO's in India require 25 hours of multi for an A320 type rating ?
How come this requirement is not there for the 737 or ATR or other aircraft ?

25 hours multi

Multi engine flying in igrua
1) king air (turbo prop)
Actual flying:10
Sim :20

2) DA42
actual :15
Sim :10

However king air is phasing out now only da42 for multi
So dont worry .. You will have 15 actual and 10 sim.. Total 25

Multi hours

Well i have heard that it is airbus company requirement that we need 15 hours of actual flying on multi engine...
While all other like boeing etc ... It is 10 hours...
However it is to be noted totat hours we need including sim is 25 hours
So its 15+10 for airbus
& 10+15 for boeing

AmateurAviator - You must do your Class 2 first and then get an assessment (declaring FIT) of the same from the DGCA, which would take around 2 months (in my case). Once you get the Class 2 assessment, you can request for a date to do your Class 1 with the medical centers mentioned on the DGCA website. When you clear your Class 1, you will be given a CA35 medical certificate which is sufficient to get an Indian CPL. Though it takes another 2 months to get your Class 1 assessment from the DGCA, which is your original Class 1 medical certificate. Hope this helps.

nobody requires 15 hrs actual multi except indigo
Can you name any one airline who hires jr.co-pi's having less than 25Hrs...please name any one airline.

as far as 737 is concerned you don't even need a multi-engine endorsement.
one of my friend had her first ME as a 737 in her license and now working somewhere in an airline.

in a scenario where jobs are so hard to find you say
yeah its hard for people like you because you don't wanna work hard.

PS: with this attitude you ARE probably sitting home!
Just got the hard copy of my LOI of employment yesterday

i think you might be sitting home right now

Kingfisher... currently hiring... with just ME rating with current IR.. no specific hours requirement.... also, indigo is the only one hiring ab-initios... rest ol type-rated... and as far as flying airbus is concerned.. i am going for A320 type rating and there's no stupid requirement of 15 actual hours on multi...! its just a stupid Indigo requirement which i hope will also be done away with... because Indigo is conducting is induction process on its own with no CAE involvement.

guys this is just to inform you that there are presently more igruans in indigo than NFTI;ns.As far as opportunities are concerned NFTI;ns have only joined INDIGO 1 have joined spicejet and 1 qatar.IGRUANS have joined all existing Airlines of India.Personally I feel both Institutes are equally good and yeh as planeboy said that requirement for flying airbus is 15 hrs actual.I personally know many people from IGRUA flying 320 in NACIL(I) and everybody here knows this.Im just writting this to caution you guys that NFTI called my younger brother telling few months back telling that if you join it you will get 10% discount.Personally I met many guys from NFTI and they have really pleasant personality. But the way Planeboy777 is advertising about NFTI it might be some bad stunt of NFTI so please dont fall into the trap.See for youself. Both institutes are equally good .DeadX17 is absolutely right.kingfisher is hiring guys with 10 hrs multi.

@vserian
I think some of the kids here don't know much about the aviation industry in general. Just because AI is not paying its employees now they assume they will never get paid and keep flying for free. Some Pvt. airlines went through the same phase in the recent past. Not just airlines in India but airlines around the world faced some tough times at some point.

You never know how things change in this industry. You may be a part of a rapidly growing Pvt. airline today and tomorrow the situation might be completely different. You might not get paid for a while or even lose your job if things get bad. If any of the Pvt airlines were in AIs situation they would have laid off employees to cut the wage bill. But AI being Govt owned airline cannot lay off employees. I am not saying having a bloated work force is good but it is something they have to live with and can't do much about as long as the airline is Govt owned.

Pilots would have killed to join AI at any cost if given a chance 3-4 yrs ago. Thanks to PP and Jadhav things have deteriorated dramatically.

AIR INDIA is gearing up...

EQUITY BOOSTER DOSE FOR AIR INDIA

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved an equity infusion of Rs 1,200 crore in Air India.
The government has so far approved Rs 2,000 crore as equity investment during 2009-10 and 2010-11. It has also approved and released a sum of Rs 500 crore as equity investment during the current financial year.
Air India is in a severe financial crunch, and the equity induction will ease the cash flow situation and prevent it from borrowing from the markets at a high cost.
The national carrier’s present paid-up equity capital is not sufficient for a company of its size. The company is struggling to address costly legacy assets, a weakening revenue stream and a high cost structure that have resulted in rising liabilities.
A group of ministers (GoM) in a meeting on February 3, 2010 decided that the recommendations for revival should be placed before the cabinet. These recommendations include rationalisation of wage costs and legacy union agreements and setting up of support businesses for MRO (maintenance, repair and operations), ground handling and cargo.

777 jobless job

I think people cursing IGRUA/AIR INDIA are the ones who coudnt make it through..my empathy is with you people. IGRUA may not be the best but it was one among the better training institutes. no where you get to fly Aerobatic caegory ZLIN , TB 20 AND not to mention KING AIR C90 for multi engine.. and yess on campus placement in AIR INDIA and on WIDE BODY jets flying around the world the best exposure possible in INDIA for a pilot..
Most of the discussions i believe are done by keyboard pilots.. I dont know how many are flying with the airlines but just for info I am EX-IGRUA and PRESENT AIR INDIAN FLYING B777 (JOBLESS JOB).. get your heads out of ground and see what IGRUA people have achieved before commenting.
people call it arrogance we call it pride.
