Snoop Jetstar Asia....

Thanks to everyone reagrding the info for the screening!!... going next month........ lets see what are the results.....

Once in JetStar; any bond for the A320?.... is the notice period 3 months?..... as a silly question....i am not sure what plane i applied.... A320 or A330?..... If going for the A320( i am rated) do we have to prepare for any studies to get a new licnese? or the JAR ATPL is far enought?.... Do they want us to start as soon as posible?..... Chances of upgrade and how long it takes?.....

Ufff , i know..... too many questions.

Thanks in advance!! Nice landings!

No bond for those with rating, but there is one for command upgrade... Dream on, you're interviewing for A320... Of course it's 3 months... You'll have to do Airlaw... If you have less than 2000hrs on A320 CAAS tech exam... "When CAN you start?"... 5 brand spanking new A320 before end of this year and next... Command if you got hours and don't f'up in the sim expect 1 year, subject to everything...

If you get in PM me for the air law study guide...

Go get em Tiger... But don't go to Tiger!

Beg pardon, folks, but I was wondering if the Aussie ATPL is a hard-and-fast requirement for application to any part of the Jetstar family. I exceed all other requirements as posted on the recruitment site for 320 fo, but most operators are understandably reluctant to allow a random Yank to darken their doorstep.

ATPL

You need a foreign ATPL to even be issued a Singaporean CPL.

If you meet the Singapore ATPL requirements you will then be issued it, don't ask me the requirements but think its 3000 hrs multi crew?

Well, the last furlough has me shy of the 3000 multi crew, but I do meet the stated requirements for the job and an Aussie ATPL. Looks like that's the route to go, since going direct from US to Singaporean license is verboten. Thanks for the heads-up.

edit: Just double-checked the application requirements for JetStar, and read that in addition to the Australian ATPL, passes are required "in all Australian ATPL subjects or equivalent." Is that their way of saying "locals only, converted foreigners need not apply"?

You need 3000 hrs TT to be issued a Singapore ATPL if converting from a foreign license otherwise you will get a CPL till you get 3000TT and relevent MCC time etc.

I think Skateys' spin turns may have left a few Stars in his eyes. He missed out the bit, where if you take the "sign on bonus" and then leave within the specified time, then you have to pay it all back. Sort of a "bond" if you like yeah.

starskate

Thanks for your detail.

Mind giving me some more advise, I will soon have 1500 hrs,at least. and which 500 hrs will be on Kingair/B1900.

With my TT and ATPL, would they consider my application? Or should i fund myself for an A320 type rating before applying?

thanks a lot

Best regards

takamasa, under the Jetstar course, you pay and they train your TR. If you arrive with your own TR, they will make you pay again and do the TR again because what you learnt elsewhere is not suitable for them.

Go figure.

Just apply to Jetstar Pacific in Vietnam instead, they have a much better system. A world first.

Not only do you pay for your type rating, but apparently you also get to pay for your own bond as well! This must ensure your continued dedication and commitment.

Don't worry about licencing either - My friends tell me ATPLs issued by western nations are okay, but you would probably have a good chance with one from Angola, Sierra Leone or Burkina Faso. Infact, just bring your car or motorbike licence.

taka, if TR'd with hours, you'd be DE, not cadet.

Given the recent news that the singapore based 330's will now be crewed by imported jetstar australia pilots and that the jetstar asia singapore 320 pilots are averaging only 55-65 hours permonth, i guess any new-hires' would be a snowballs chance in a red hot wok!!!
