@chairwrecker,

This is in response to your post re - "TF is even more tightfisted than 5J's LYG so i'm not sure what you mean by AA being a diff kind of LCC...is that supposed to be good for the pilots?? "

As I stated previously, 5J is totally out of the picture for the reason that its package is way below the standard in the region for quite a long time. The Airline does not have an immediate plan to upgrade its package despite the current ongoings in the Airline industry. This has been their trademark since the beginning of their operations. "A long wait, much more than a longer reaction". This is a disadvantage to the pilots who are beholden to the Airline for whatever reasons and much more to the pilots who do not have any choice than to stay. But not to the pilots who are blessed with discernment.

TF "tightfisted" differs with LYG in terms of strategy. But before we go further, I would like to define first the meaning of "tightfisted" to arrive at a common understanding.

TF - Air Asia (Philippines) - "tightfisted" - minimalist (kuripot)

LYG - Cebu Pacific (5J) - "tightfisted" - cheap (barat)

Being a "tightfisted" is a virtue to a distinct group of businessmen but common to an ordinary farmer. From soil preparation to marketing the product, he completes the business cycle similar to a large corporation. But he is a farmer. He chooses his workers, brief them what he wants and what he intends to do, offer them a fairly generous pay to complete a 2 days job in one day (pakyaw) and etc.... With these, he saves much of the needed resources to the limit (people, time, money, equipment, etc.) to be used for other farm operations. He increases productivity and produces more quality yields. His "ACE" is dealing with "PEOPLE", the "multiplier factor" in farming.

This is my definition of a "tightfisted" and I am a farmer.

Do you want to do farming the 5J way? Very disastrous! You will surely get what you have paid for...

Running an Airline is no difference....and it is always the "PEOPLE".

Again, let's just wait for the TCs and decide accordingly.

I hope I answered your question.

@chairwrecker,

My "assumptions" for 5J was taken from March 8, 1996 to March 8, 2006 (10 years) based on "chippy".

I have not seen any significant change in their TCs since 2006 when the average package in the region for LCCs was US 10.5K. I happened to be in the LC since then.

My other assumption is, Air Asia Philippines will offer a better package than Tiger-Sea Air for the simple reason of competition. "Qualified Pilots" are very scarce in the region right now and China is paying as much as US 14K (Captain) minimum to attract rated A320 pilots.

In short, they will hire locally. Where?

Let's just wait for the TCs and may the best offer win.

Recruitment

CPL/IR with 200 hours are welcomed to apply also? Wow!

To bisaya, are foreign nationals welcomed to apply as well, or is this ad applicable for Pinoys only?

Thanks!

There is a certain "STANDARD" in hiring for a position in the Airline especially for pilots. Anything below the standard will jeopardize flight safety. That's the reason why many "qualified pilots" choose their Airline seriously.

I think Air Asia Philippines is not so desperate to hire "free for all".

Could anyone share any information regarding the package?

I am just contemplating if it is worth a try.

To all who applied for Air Asia yesterday and today - good luck to you all !!!

There are 3 more airlines coming...... Crystal Thai, Cathay Cargo and Jetstar Asia.

Take your pick.......... nice packages I've heard. Some will be based outside the Philippines...more OFWs coming up.

I have just received a reliable info that the package is "not worth a try" for people from the Legacy Carriers (LCs) in the region. This is also true to pilots in the LCCs who are getting more than US 10.5K and other benefits and privileges.

It is now safe to conclude that the outfit is planned to cater for local pilots only.

It's all yours guys!!! Grab it!!!

GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

bisaya,

what is the definition of a junior f/o? what about a senior f/o?

will they consider someone without a type rating on the Airbus?

Bisaya:

Bai, nice figures you quoted. Seems their offer beats most if not all local A320 packages. How did such figures end in your Inbox? Did you apply with them?

senior f/o?
2,500 HRS and above on type

Only applicants with type rating got interviewed.

The rest will have to wait for the next Air Asia recruitment day.

I think there were around 300 applicants (maybe more). With 2 airbus to be operational by August/September, 24 applicants will be selected initially. However, recruitment will continue and will hire more as the need arises.

I was just wondering that they said there is a need for A320 Pilots in the Philippines, I tried to send my resume but without any reply. Does anybody Sir's know which one is hiring now? I really would appreciate it if any of you can guide me with this.

Thanks
