Indonesia cost of life

Hi mates!
A friend of mine is trying to hit a job in small airplane (Caravan or small twin) operator. He would like to know what should be the cost of life in a city in Indonesia and what pay he can expect.
Thanks for the info

Well...in the midst of international terrorism happenings these days,Indonesia is one of the hot spots and it might COST you your LIFE.

As far as the COST of LIVING is concerned,it is still managable and low.

Yes, so he should avoid London and Madrid also, not even talking about New York City...

Thanks for your contribution...

I am not sure what the pay package is now. I was there in 1996-1997. I worked for Sempati Airlines. Pay was around $4500 USD per month. Capts made quite a bit more. I went through a UK contract agency--Strongfield Aviation.

Cost of living depends on where/how you want to live. If you want the expat experience then it will cost more. If you live a bit like the locals then its a lot cheaper. I had a studio "expat" apartment in Jakarta--It cost around $1000/month.

Danger

Doudou, There was a 208 job going in CKG (Jakarta) on Climbto350. Not the safest place to be though. Love the metal Detectors before you go go in a night spot. and taxi everywhere dont walk.
