Heard that 28 companies bought the tender documents.

Closing date is August 16 and it will be for up to 6 aircrafts of ATR42 / Dash 8 category for 10 years.

I heard the decision to award both the F/W and the R/W contracts has been delayed to November 29th. I guess we won't be seeing the aircraft(s) in MMEA livery at LIMA this year.

Dont underestimate the ambitions of a contractor, if it is announced on the 29th, Im sure it will still make it to Lima. Do you think the F/W and R/W contracts will be separate.

It is meant to be public info but I can't find it on the net. Is it out yet who won the contract(s).

I heard there is a further delay and we can only expect the outcome of the tender to be announced after LIMA05.

I wonder why there is a delay when the initial plan was to launch the whole thing before the end of this year. Is someone buying time?

Re: Malaysian Coastguard Tender

The latest I've heard is a possible announcement on the 6th of January but not sure if this is for preferred tenderer status or winning tenderer. Does anyone actually know any companies who have tendered for this contract?
I don't see how there will be any f/w aircraft there until at least March/April, and that's only if we hear of an announcement in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Malaysian Coastguard Tender

Rumour has it that there will be a further delay, possibly late January or early February before we get to see who gets awarded the F/W and R/W contracts.

Could this be because of budget constraints? Or could it be that a member of the tender committee is away performing his Haj. Who knows? Rumours are always supposed to be juicy and this is a rumour network, right?

Bidders? Another rumour is that the favourites to win are Scare Rod, M-edged A*s, FA A*s and Where's Tar. Go figure out which ones are going for the F/W and which ones are going for the R/W tender.
