Ya I agree with streetguy on saxeuman's post. If they so like to call us last minute before the course starts then what's the use of asking us how many months notice must we give to our current employers? They somemore not ask once but 3 times if I recall. One in our application form, one during the first interview and once just before the final interview. Doesn't make sense right? And don't they realise that we, like all other working people need to abide by this rule? ( the one month's notice)
Yeah to the earlier post, gathering from the posts there should be about 6-8 guys who are confirmed for the Nov intake liao. Cheers.
Just to clarify what I meant on the previous mail..
I think the HR works in a way as to make sure the shortlisted ones for the intake are certain they can make it for the course before they send out the contract. They don't want to have cases where they send out to those who are uncertain whether they can make the date.
I know it does not make sense that they only send out the contract at the end yet most of us here needs at least a month to notify the company. But this is how they work. Anyway, if you can't be released in time for the nov course, then you just got to let them know and seek for alternative arrangement. Simple as that.

u r wrong, my batch got a malaysian already confirmed on nov obs, he 's now waiting for his emplyment pass to clear....
I thought the malaysians wll have to clear their employment pass first before getting called by SIA???....

i'm a malaysian and yes - i got my email confirmation letter from Mdn J already. But when i called her to request about my employment status, she jus said tt it is still in the process. well, i guess it doesnt take that long for the employment pass issue to be settled. all the best and see u guys in seletar!
bong..when did u do your medical? ...the reason i asked abt the intakes in nov...was because i thought that only m'sians are sent to lumut whereas s'poreans are sent to the OBS in s'pore..and i thought they'd have different intakes.........anyway...mr E told us that they'l only contact us once the medical n employment pass i done...as far as i can remember...anyways...thanks guys!
for those who have experienced how SIA works, does it mean that if I tell them I only need 3 weeks notice, they'll really wait till its 3 weeks left before they call?

i am new to this thingy. I am supposed to join the sep intake but have been delayed till nov. coz i needed to give a long resignation notice. Currently waiting for letter to arrive. Waited for almost 3 months!
So for those still waiting ...be patient..
