What about after IT? When do you usually get the call? Been exactly 2 weeks now and no news. I hear they don't even email you if you didn't get through. Only after the interview do they email you telling you that you have failed.

yes, u are right,
they won't email or call someone who failed the IT or AT,

some candidates got the call 1 day after the IT for the arrangement of AT, some may take 1-2weeks,

btw. i failed my IT,
i will try again next yr,
and i am now preparing for the green one^^

thank you

Online Status

Hi guys,

I failed at the FI stage, and when I checked my status online via the Dragonair website, I got the following message.

"We regret to inform you that we are unable to process your application further. This decision is final. Thank you for your interest in Dragonair."

Has anyone here failed at the FI stage and got the same message?

I thought it was supposed to be

"We are unable to accept your application within a 12 month period of your previous application. If you wish to re-apply for the Cadet Pilot Programme, please do so at the appropriate time."

So I am just wondering if it means I cannot even re-apply next year.

Thanks!

hi,
how do u do?
which stage are u in?

there are very few ppl who share their experience these days,
maybe the MPL is not as attractive as CPL before,
or those passionate ppl had already applied eariler and finished their selection process.

Hello All,

I believe this is my first time posting on this thread.

I applied Jan 27th and just got a reply yesterday for the Initial testing on 6 March @ 0945.

First time applying for Dragonair. I hold a PPL with about 70 hours. Applied for CX CPP in 2009 but failed after Stage 2.

I haven't been on PPRune for quite a while so I still have to catch up on the reading, but anyone know how long the whole process takes if successful, like from the Initial Testing all the way to Flight Grading. Also, how much time is there between the stages? Reason for me asking is because i live in Los Angeles, and it will be costly to keep flying back and to get days off from work.

Thanks!

Dargonair DEFO interview

Hello all,

Much like SIVIR I have a DEFO interview in the near future. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of information out there. Does anyone have any gouge/notes regarding the interview process and or/simulator process? Please PM if so.

Thanks in advance,

The Duke.

Response time

Anyone do their initial interview for the FO position yet? Did mine last Friday, 3/2/12. Not sure how long it takes for them to respond. If anyone has any idea, please do share. Thanks.

I have my interview as DEFO non-type rated.
What about the Airbus type rating? Do I have to sign a bond in case of positive result? If yes, do you know the amount?

Get the rating

SIVIR. There is no bond, come and get the rating, have a good time. Hong kong is fun if you are single and free of responsibilities like having to worry about schools etc. You're not going to make much without the expat allowances so don't consider it a long term prospect. It is not intended that you should stay too many years anyway, you are only needed as a stop gap until the current bulge of cadets has the experience to replace you.

So, as the website says, salary is 69000HKD plus 20000HKD housing allowance plus type rating.
I have no kids and happy to move out from Europe where professionaly wise is a pit.
Probably you guys don't know what the market is offring in this period but for me KA seems a good deal.

SIVIR,

You need to run a cost of living survey to realise how much it will cost to live in Hong Kong. Yep 89,000HKD sounds good don't it, that's 11,500 USD per month!

Now lets run a comparison on USD costs. Fuel in USA 97c/l HKG 2.29c/l. Milk USA$1.00/l, HKG $2.56/l. Rent for 1 bedroom apartment in California $1000 p/m, Tung Chung 2000 p/m. If you want a quality of life indicator then you need to reduce the salary 60%. I won't even start the comparison if you have a family, I might have to reduce the salary another 10%.

$4600USD p/m sound good now? Join up, your closest friend will be the managers who will pat you on the back for increasing their bonuses.

I got a reply from her after 2 days. She told me there is a special schedule for the CPP interviews in April designed for overseas applicants.
