Age limitation

Dear All,

I am now 29 and turning 30 soon. Do you think CX CPP will consider applicant this old? Can anyone tell me the average age of successful applicant. To become a pilot is always my childhood dream. But due to family issue in the past 7 years I have to give up my dream and take over the responsibility of the family. I just competed a diploma in Legal Studies. Am I eligible for the CPP. And one more issue, I have Myopia problem, my left eye 375 and right eye 425. Is that possible to pass the medical screen?

I hope some brothers can help me to solve my doutb!

Thank you all!

YKK: The age is alright, there are cadets over in ADL which are over 30's. Not too sure about the eye sight until you do the medical check but whatever happen don't do LASIK!!

Dear all,

Thanks for all your reply! I will work on that. I understand I need to take my first step in order to success. Thanks for your information!

psyc-ho

May I ask that CX will provide the doctor list for the medical check or we just go find a qualified clinic ourselves.

Bird-dog

Thanks for your information.

Mizzy

Are you sure LASIK is fine?

yes, it's fine basically but have to wait and confirm by their med examiner that it has become stable. i cannot recall how long, some 10 months to 1 year is recommended?

by the way, why LASIK if wearing corrective lens are perfecty fine?

all med check will be conducted at CX's med clinic, LASIK confirmation seems to conduct somewhere.

at last, please SEARCH before asking question, your question can be easily found and among those most freq. asked question.

Hi YKK,

CX will have panel DR within CX city, but there are a few out in town which are aviation medical approved, such as Dr O'Tremba located in TST will do this kind of medical but is not exactly cheap, therefore I would say you ask him for advice first.

I started at cx as an SO at age 36 - no jet or airline time - just a couple of thousand hours of twin turbine and the usual GA stuff.

Although CX may take a look at what you have done/achieved up until this point in time, I doubt they will say no to you because of your age.

All the best!
