Hi !
When we join a CPxx, are we sure to become a pilot at Cathay Pacific Airways or are there other examinations ? Otherwise, do you know if the Cathay Pacific Cadet Pilot Programme will still be available next years ? And how many sections are there a year ? How many times can we apply ?
Thank you in advance !

MK i think we can all agree that you need to do a bit of research before asking (well sure some of us can't even be bothered to reply your "questions")
you can make it into CP if they think you can get through, but there's no stopping you in failing one of the vast number of examinations in order to get you licenses and ratings, or you piss the instructors off enough that they would like to see you walk.
as for your other questions, please kindly run a quick search.

Since the program is running international, the chance for the local boys and girls in HK is getting harder~!!
Glad to read alot of people are making it through!!! could of of the CP35 cadets share more about the background of the cadets?
Moreover is nice to see CP36 is starting so soon even in Late NOV.. that is just 1 month away from CP35.... I suppose it quite good for the applicants as courses are started more frequently, same as the time between CP34 and CP35..
Would you guys be able to share more abt the process>

The CPP shouldn't be seen as a competition...
Opening up the CPP to internationals shouldn't hurt the chances of anyone getting in.

Just remember, CX changed the requirements to their CPP to assist themselves rather than the applicants.

Well, to be frank I think there are several reasons CX made it international, firstly they are running out of potential cadet each year in HK as CX are now very experience in reading all applicants like a book from an interview after all this years and they can just take an educated guess in knowing how many candidate are actually good enough in HK each year. As they always say they never recruit upto the limit yet!
Secondly, it will definately increase the competition, as it is International which mean everyone from everywhere can apply, all the applicants need to do is to fly to the nearest town for the interview and preform to a good standard. After going international, I think the standard should increase further more, which mean all cadet are best of the best. Anyway this is all prediction and it is hard to state what CX is thinking? maybe they just want to train more cadet to create a better brand image?
It is good that everyone is getting a shot at this program as it is very valuable indeed and provide the window to the world of aviation with one of the best airline in the world.
