Any Kiwis out there?

CPP wannabes,

I'm wondering if there are any fellow Kiwis out there who have applied for the CPP. If so, any news?

Hey there,

I'm thinking of applying but need to consider a few things before doing so...Have you already applied? Do you know if they take interviews in NZ?

Cheers,

Hi, I'm kiwi to, I applied for the cadet program via Cathay's website approx. mid June. I received an automated email indicating that I can expect to hear from them in 8 weeks, so 2 more weeks to go. When selecting a location for an interview Auckland was available (can't remember if Christchurch was there). They give you two choices, a 1st and 2nd. I chose Auckland as my primary and Hong Kong as alternate.

That would be 'I'm Kiwi too...' - wonder if less than perfect spelling matters with Cathay?

No, there are bigger issues - like losing to the 'Boks...again.

In my application you could only chose which country rather than city you prefer.

I chose HK as my first option. At least I know that they will be running interviews and it is a good excuse to spend a week up there.

ncea level 1: 20Achieved credits 80Merit credits 20Excellence credits

though I'm not entirely sure it'll make sense

I'm pretty sure they will take interviews here in Auckland. If you lot read other posts you'll discover that people in other countries can take interviews in cities that Cathay serves.

My 8 weeks is up this very week, either the Sunday gone, or this one coming, can't remember exactly when I applied. Obviously no news yet, if I don't hear anything by Monday i'll try and get it touch with someone to see what the story is.

I've just sent them an email, they should receive it in four hours time when they start work. Yep, I've done some flying of my own accord, I hope that it will give me an advantage in that I'll need less a little training in the basics. I recommend you go for a few flights and if you can, try to reach your first solo, it will demonstrate, strong interest and commitment. It's will probably cost close to $2,000 to get to that level though.

Just received a reply from Cathay Pacific Flight Crew Recruitment. They have informed me that my application has been received and will be considered along with all other eligible applicants in this geographic area when they next select for interviews.

I'd be interested to know if they'd take anyone with a CPL (low hrs) and ATPL credits, if so how would one apply?
