EK equipment

There seems to be fleet rotation going on around the network generally. The morning MAN service has been a B772 several times recently instead of the usual B77W.

I'm sure NCL will get an EK B777 before long. Looking at the Google Earth aerial view I can't see too many problems for ground maneouvring of a 772 or 773 on the runway and taxiways - no really tight...

Just for my clarity of mind...is NCL still owned by the council and the operation contracted out? I thought it was now in (majority) private hands?

B777 & Runway shoulders

B777 is an ICAO 'Code E' type for airfield infrastructure, but so is the A330. According to ICAO Annex 14 and the UK's CAP 168, a Code E runway of 45m width should have 7.5 metres...
