Of course, airport figures are passengers flown. An unknown is how many booked but were no-shows. It's difficult and not cost-effective to get refunds, apparently.

Unfortunately, spotters tend not to spend much. They will stay for hours and eat home-made sandwiches. That's the reason the spectator's terminal at Luton closed - it just didn't pay.

I hope the Treasury uses a brownfield site. I would hate to see my hard-earned taxes going into a new build, especially with the glut of offices likely in the next few months and years.

If I read this correctly, it makes sense for Eastern. They get to start routes (of their choice?) with no commercial risk and presumably with a guaranteed return. After a period, they have the choice...

My understanding (which may be wrong) is that codeshare agreements are specific to certain routes, and are not between the entire networks of two carriers.
