Do FTRS retire at 55? Maybe they'll look at some sort of active reserves thing to plug the gap. I worked with an AvO once who flew until his 60s.

Retaining some experienced navs on PAS seems very sensible to me. There's still a requirement for them until the GR4 OSD, and beyond that their specific skill set doesn't just disappear....
