There is a bit of misunderstanding going on here, the EH101 is a crash worthy helicopter and has certification in the UK, Italy and the USA as such, just to an earlier (less demanding) set of rules,...

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE CAUSE WAS , as I said before any cracking may or may not be a causal factor, nodody knows yet and wild guessing now doesn't help
