There is no corraltor on the 280C so you have to work the throttle as you raise or lower the collective, try to lead with the throttle when pulling the lever up but watch the revs, you get used to it...

The 28a is quite underpowered so you need to be quick with your wrist as it's got no corralation at all, you need a good engineer as well & it's not economical on fuel but it's a reasonably good...

The other big advantage of the Enstrom is that you don't have time lifed parts (except the lamaflex) so if you don't do many hours a year it works out cheaper than the 44 which you only really rent...

I have had no real big problems with my 280C and found it reasonably inexpensive to operate.
There are a few 280 models for sale at reasonable prices 50 - 80K Sterling and I would think about going...

I am happy enough with my 280c, it has more room than the robbo 44 in the front and can lift me (100kg) and a similar passenger with full fuel and luggage.

Pros - Pleanty of power and not calander...
