Never heard anyone could get upgrade in 2 years, the shortest upgrade time I know so far was about 2 years and 3 months from SO to JFO.

If you are a Canadian, why don't you do the flight training in Canada? You can try to get a low time pilot job in Canada to accumulate some flying hours then jump to Jazz or WestJet Encore meanwhile...
