guess if they were cleared for the ILS yes, I'm sure they did, but the FMS Visual approach they initially performed precludes this..

the visual approach they were flying is an FMC approach, therefore it is in the database, and when selected provides all the information you need to fly..the autopilot system does a very nice job on...

well, I'm no "guru" but I did fly the 320 as PICfor 5 years and a bit, vertical guidance is encoded into the database on certain types of FMS approaches...
