Several good points here. I agree standardisation on the 738 is the most likely route. The 767 however would work as a 757 replacement as you point out. There are plenty out there and if they can...

Whilst the 757 aren't due for retirement, the 739 is not a good seller. It is a compromised design and suffers from poor runway performance and higher risk of tailstrike. The A321 is outselling it by...

Does anyone know if the purchase of 30 new 737-800s is part of a plan to eventually go to a simplified 1 aircraft type fleet? If so when are the 737 - 300s and 757s likely to leave the fleet? I...

Maybe they could go for a small new leased fleet for the routes they currently run in year round. They could then keep the owned NGs which are parked in winter and retire the older 752/ 733s and older...

Having had a decent length lease the lessor may be willing to sell the aircraft to Jet 2 at a reasonable price. It will of course depend on how many interested parties the are for the ac. Given there...

Older 733s

I doubt many of these early 733s will be going too soon. If they are spending money fitting winglets on them, and oil prices don't climb too quickly then they are cheap to operate. No lease costs...

Linda. Thanks for that. Makes the results even more impressive then.

I understand the winglets benefit the 733s more than the 738s due to the latter's already larger wing. I am surprised they are...

Those G-BUS* A320s were very early birds -100s if I'm not mistaken. The early aircraft had corrosion issues I believe so if they are looking at A320s they really need to be looking for cheap ones...

Jethro 15. Those 3 are ex Hapag airframes. The Air Berlin fleet is younger so perhaps too expensive for Jet 2 but you never know, they may be able to pick up a couple at a decent price.

I assume the 330 will be purely MAN based. Multiflights hangar at LBA can take up to 757s but any overnight work on a 330 would have to be done outside if they used it ex LBA.
