There was still a good amount of green line left in front of the closest aircraft on the taxiway.
Obviously, it was still possible to miss that cue. Without an actual (not simulated) photo of that...

Even when the pilot's report is identical to the CVR, the CVR is a better source to cite when arguing for changes in regulations, procedures, equipment, etc.

By my guess: It was intentional in the sense that he had a plan for avoiding traffic - and was following it fairly accurately. And the plan was formulated well before he reached the runway threshold.
