We're lucky ASA pays us at all. And seriously that is a very veeeerry good wage just for training. Any other similar job in the world you'd have to pay to train and then not necessarily be guaranteed...

Brit12, honestly there isn't anything in particular that could train you for the application process, just make sure you're good with your math. I didn't even know that en-route controllers EXISTED...

The minimums are more an intelligence level/ability to learn thing. I got into a course with no aviation experience and a commerce degree, in the same course as someone that used to sell furniture....
