Why? So far AFAP have not delivered anything yet. Let’s see if the FWC determination gives the pilots a substantial improvement beyond what they had previously agreed with the company, otherwise AFAP...

Agreed. There was a paywalled article from a few weeks ago that suggested the FWC said the issue was mostly the members not agreeing with the course set by the union?

Ridiculous. Resource flying is a stable, guaranteed source of income for airlines. The collapse of mining would lead to a nation wide depression causing travel demand to plummet, along with airline...

It’s a different platform. You can’t be an A320 pilot and go and fly a 737 the next day without significant retraining - ie not the same job.

Thats how I’d read it - I’m not certain because this...

Once upon a time the airline had 747-300s flying trans continental between SYD/MEL to PER. Now it’s mostly 737. Should that be justification for 737 pilots to get paid 747 salaries?

Currently an NAA Capt is on $186k for 65 hours per BP. I believe the previous proposals had the new salary around $220-230k. For every hour above 65 they get $120 per hour plus a $500 for a day off....

You can’t really compare salaries with passenger numbers. A JQ A321LR carries just 2 less passengers than a QF 787 but the pilot salaries are widely dissimilar.

Current rate for a JQ narrowbody Capt is $232k. If it ends up in a FWC determination even beyond the BOOT test there’s no way the FWC will determine a rate outside of the $220-230k ballpark.
