DUS

Remember that the A319 vs CRJ900 is about a 40% increase in capacity so load factors have gone backwards. Don't expect a frequency increase any time soon. 13k on Bristol with the current schedule is...

... I think you'll find it is all down to Ryanair. First year of Polish routes plus higher frequency on Sun routes, then a lowering of fares by Jet2 and EZY in response - and you have your answer....

My point was that there are many German visitors to the North East, evidenced by the cars on the road, and a number must come by air. No more scientific than that.

DUS

A bit off this thread, but NQY (and Hahn) from DUS is 85% German-originating. Given the number of German cars on the roads in Northumberland, I strongly suspect that the DUS route is one of few into...

BRS

It doesn't help that Flybe's Exeter service goes (midweek) at the same time. EZY's schedule is geared entirely for Stag and Hen parties coming up to Newcastle for the weekend. Nothing wrong with that...

Growth

For NCL's lack of growth, I'd suggest the following can account for most of the problem: Reduction of the easyJet based fleet. That has meant that routes like CDG,AMS and CPH which should each have...

Bristol

No one has mentioned APD
£26 on a return trip is a massive tax compared with competing modes.
That said, as a regular user of the route, the schedule is unusable on many days.

BFS

85% loads on Belfast would put it approx. 6% behind the EZY network average, so no good news there. Helped by the very short sector length though.

NCL EWR

Ref. Today's flight. The passenger is question has a six hour connecting flight on from EWR, and yet the fare was £120 cheaper than had they travelled point-to-point NCL EWR. Don't know how UA do...

NCL EWR

Believe me, if this route doesn't get to 80% and fast, it will be pulled. The days of airlines giving routes yeas to develop are long gone.

NCL- EWR

Quote from passenger on this morning's New York flight: "If there's 50 passengers, I'm double counting". Not great for July.

Memory Lane

While we're going down a transatlantic memory lane, don't forget Dan-Air's B707 NCL - YYZ (via PIK) operation in the early '70's which was operated for Jetsave.

News from NCL

Quite agree!
What's happening at an airport is just as relevant as the numbers and how they're achieved.
