No spare seats on QF into/outa DXB for the past two weeks. Would be hard for even QF management to say your not printing money at the moment.

I know its different engines and a heavier 380 takeoff weight, but EK figures for DXB to LAX yesterday (7491nm) are TOW = 565t (max 575t) revenue carried 55.5t (full seats of 489 plus a 4.5t freight)...

Can't see why EK would need to buy either QF or jetstar. The codeshare feeds their network without any of the hassles of ownership. What do they gain by buying?

All QF pax that fly to UK/Europe from anywhere other than SYD and MEL, (and even a lot of those) are Flying on EK metal now. QF has left them no other choice. This was never going to be a good deal...

Well I for one really hope pilot salaries aren't cut in any way shape or form as QF bumbles through this. There is enough pressure on maintaining even current conditions as there is in this industry...
