This is why ATC fams (and the other way around) are/were vital. Runway exiting/ direction of turnoff planning is considered long before landing. Just as KDEN this time of year, I'm rolling further...

At hyper busy airports I frequent (KORD, KLAX, KATL) often times the ground controller is calling you as the aircraft crosses the hold short lines. Makes it easy when it works.
