My take on it is that the hotspots are an independent factor in relation to the corrosion. I expect they are a variation in residual...

Good point HC. However, with crevice corrosion, I am not sure if I really have much of a problem with 167 hours. It depends on the alloy and I don't have a history with that one.

If it's OK to have a hole; and I am not sure that it is; then why plug it when this can result in crevice corrosion and the plug...
