No real need for it to be honest. In 13 and a bit years of operating the B737 with Cat3A fitted I've never needed anything other than that. Visibility so poor is so infrequent it's an additional cost...

Or were 737-800's that are landing performance limited and were likely too heavy to land in the fog, as extra landing distance is required over a manual landing.

Jet2 didn't tender for most of the Royal Mail this time round. I understand that Royal Mail chose 1 operator to provide their service, so I assume Titan missed out if they submitted a tender.

Probably just movement of the fleet to cater for 1/2 term. Scottish 1/2 terms are different weeks, so the extra aeroplanes might have been swapped round with GLA or EDI to provide extra capacity.

They do, certainly they do their best. Jet2's gate staff are empowered to make those decisions and we don't even see it on the aeroplane, rather than in years gone by where the gate staff would ask...
