I think the plan all along had been to offer eventually full time positions to the good contractors. Time will tell if this happens. In the mean time with crews still be short staffed then extending...

So perhaps the answer is that you should fall on your sword and "help" out the industry/your peers and go back to road haulage. One less wannabe pilot bringing down the industry as you state.
