Don't see an increase from Thomson for Summer 2017. They've dropped Madeira and no longer fly to Dubrovnik, although you can book holidays with them using Jet2 flights.

Looks like easyJet is stopping the Amsterdam route at the end of May and not flying to Menorca this summer. Timetable to Bristol is an improvement on this winter, though still no use for business...

Not sure what you mean by lack of LCC volume in 2005-2008. EasyJet based more aircraft at Newcastle in 2005-2008 than it does now and used to fly to Stansted and Bristol four or more times a day....

Jet2 flies plenty of routes from Newcastle that easyJet has dropped - Rome, Murcia, Krakow etc. However, it does seem to be more interested in developing holiday destnations rather than city routes.

The route to Stavanger has been going a long time with similar sized planes. Bergen is probably more attractive for British tourists because it's closer to the Fjords.
