Harry,it's been covered before..however there is a lot more "specialised" freight than to the Gulf.
It all goes from Doncaster or Stansted.

Fog and landings...

I think you will find that the ILS facilities at Newcastle are as good as at any major airport in the world. The problem is with the airlines/aircraft/crew not the airport facilities?

A lot of rubbish on here re DLR. no facility in Cumbria,warehouse planned only in Washington,and most flights out of other airports!

apron loading

Haven't Newcastle had a couple of AN 124 cargo movements? Don't think the A380 would be a problem for the apron.
Not sure about wing tip clearances etc?

I flew on the easy jet Gatwick on Friday...full bar a couple seats.Just can't understand why newcastle are loosing this improving route?

I often wonder about the newcastle runway and the lack of foresight in extending it?? I know it costs a lot but 300 metres would make a massive difference to the future of the NE s. Premier airport?...
