Hmm - the 777 gear "swing" time is about 12 seconds. But there is a substantial delay between "lever selected up" and the actual start of the gear swing - fairing doors open, gear leveled...

I thought required SOP for using the evacuation...

I thought required SOP for using the evacuation slides was "Shoes OFF".

To avoid tearing and deflating the slide, or catching a foot in a crevice or fold and breaking a leg.

Or is this like...
