There's no real need to take security along the highway up to Goroka or even Hagen.

From Lae to Kasam is safe, just keep your wits about you from Yonki to Goroka.

There was a big American WWII strip at a place (now) called Nugidu (I think) near Maneba wharf. It had some bitumen still on it but was completely overgrown when I last saw it in 2000.

Apparently as of last night the PNG CAA Union is on strike.

No flights as yet out of POM with the inbound PX Singapore flight supposedly being diverted to Cairns.
