Just a quick reply to whoever was asking about the numbers that pass.

3% or so of those who start stage1 make it through to the college. However, be prepared to then lose some of your coursemates...

When it comes to the bases of controlled airspace there is no set figure, as it all depends on the requirements of the local area.

Stage 1 - Aircraft Details

Just to echo a previous poster, I would recommend getting as much of the aircraft details section (FL, speed, typical route etc) into your head as possible.
You can be questioned on it at any stage...
