From 1989 to 1998 (my time on the beast) the RoC limit was 3000 fpm. We were told it had nowt to do with establishing autorotation and everything to do with a 3-axis "shuffle" the aircraft exhibited...

That's inflation for you. The generators down there only used to be 8.5 tonnes each. No wonder they need the REAL heavylift experts, eh? :cool:
