ISTR that the WSOp classes at Cranwell about 5 years ago were around 7-10% of those invited for selection. However that in itself does not tell you just how many more applied and did not attend OASC.

And then some. There is no pipeline for ab initio WSOs. Apart from the ANT at Cranwell, there's no WSO training apparatus out there. There's no MFTS plan to train WSO's. And so on...

Last year 170 trainee pilots were made redundant as were the last 5 courses of navigators. The surviving pilots are going through training now, so it's a fair bet pilot as a branch will open...
