Yup, for all the G1000 equipped aircraft I have flown, I have no recollection of reading airspeed or altitude info from the scrolling bars, it's those round standby instruments I see first....

I have never flown a parachute equipped aircraft, but I've flown lots of faster types (Cardinals, 206's, Piper Arrows, Bellanca Vikings and some Mooney) in which I'd be thinking pretty carefully...
