Sorry to hear about Jims passing Great PNG aviation books I lost all my 3 volumes of Balus following the Rabaul eruption September 1994 ash & water damage after my house collaped.

I guess this is better than the single engine T/O...

I guess this is better than the single engine T/O and hope the drop off into the valley below with enough air speed to windmill the prop will start the engine...some may remember this but the outcome...

Very tru...he was a Gentleman...CW thanks for the correction on the HGU incident....that was a bad time for Talair with the loss of P2-GKN the day before.

No... not P2-RDS I worked for Talair in Goroka from 1991 til Oct 1993. I knew Bob in New Zealand...he was a flight instructor at the Wellington Aero club years before, and I meet him in Masterton...

Sorry to hear this sad news...Brian was the first person I met on arrival in POM on my first trip to PNG, Mach 1991 after arriving on the A310 and clearing customs at the old PX terminal building...

Torres...Yes Chinese Restaurant & Supermarket...I just a great steak at the "Bird" had many feeds there since 1991 and never had a problem....they have closed the Gillies bar....had many a good night...
