I think the point is that IF it deployed...

I think the point is that IF it deployed accidentally and the result is a bent helicopter but live pilot ....... You balance that against the ones that could have been saved by in flight failure...

I think you may be missing the point Hillberg . Nobody doubts the proven autorotation ..... This wouldn't deploy in an engine failure as there is no violent negative g . It is designed , I guess...
