Perhaps therein lies the solution. I wouldn’t trust a “software update” from Boeing to well and truly fix this. They need to redesign MCAS such that it becomes a discrete and isolation-able input....

Why didn’t Boeing incorporate an MCAS cutoff switch or circuit breaker? Rather than cut out an otherwise perfectly functioning stab trim, just isolate MCAS.
