Hi fellas,
was planning to do the auditor course in FRA this year with AQS, tho i'm ops and have little experience in audit field.
can someone pls share any info's regarding shifting career into this field?

Hi, a lot of directions for auditing are possible (internal, IOSA, etc.). What you are looking for ? How much aviation experience you have in total ?

i've been in ops since ever, now hitting 6 years with different airlines...
and lately I am considering other pastures in the aviation industry to broaden my personal aviation knowledge and also looking into a sort of career change. I would like to take this course with AQS however I'm not sure how much it could do me good. I'm quite careful before spending money into something that might not come my way.
I might have the chance to start as part time auditor within my airline and maybe this could be a runway towards a new chapter in my career...
how many disciplines are you qualified for? what prospective could there be for a quality auditor? tks in advance

Don't know anything about this particular course but audit techniques can be applied to just about any topic. As FEHERTO says, there are a number of uses for audit skills in an airline environment. If you can pin down what you are aiming for you might find that there are other courses that suit you better or provide you with better value for money - have you looked at the JAA-TO offering?

I've checked with jaa to and found among all courses the regulatory auditing techniques training course, it looks like to be the best option for a beginner and hope this will pay well for future auditing experience! and also the course is avlbe in my home town
however can you share some info's regarding this training organization? i know jaa but didn't know they had a to as well!

Hi jack, when the JAA was active - harmonising the rules for aircraft certification, maintenance and operations mainly - it set up a small training team to spread the word about the new rules and how they could be implemented. Then the rules setting task was handed over to EASA and the JAA wound down.... eventually to nothing. But the training arm spun off into a commercial training organisation covering far more than the original JAA topics. Since then it has expanded the number of locations at which it offers training too. From my experience much of the training is very good and it is well organised. I believe the particular course that you mention is delivered by a guy who has trained lots of people in auditing and covers all the basic skills that you would need. I would really like to know how the training went and if you could give more advice, considering you have a little more experience now. I would also like to tow the audit line and have been in ops (cabin attendant) for 5 yrs. I would really like to do something more 9-5 and was looking at the AQS AAT course. I think audit will be very important in Africa very soon (hasn't always been the case) as airlines will have nowhere to hide and must be scrutinised by the international community.

Hi all,

If anybody could throw some more light on this subject I would be grateful as I am considering moving into this field too. I am ex RAF aircrew ( not pilot ) and currently working part time for SAS and also offshore in the seismic world. Between the 2 I have about 25 years experience and I am wondering if you can combine the IOSA role with living in Norway ( long story, personal reasons and hence why I am currently offshore ). Also got an MSc in air transport mngt from City in London
