Air Guilin pilot grounded for allowing a passenger to visit the FD during the flight.

"A Chinese pilot has been banned from flying for life for allowing a young woman to visit the cockpit.

The incident happened on an Air Guilin flight 10 months ago, but the photos taken by the woman – later identified as Chen Yuying, a student who planned to become a flight attendant after graduation – only went viral on Sunday.

Chen, a third-year student at Guilin Tourism University, was seen posing in front of a tea set sitting in a pilot’s seat, and added a caption that read: “I am super thankful to the pilot! I am so thrilled!”

The picture, which was spotted this week on Weibo by someone working in the air industry, caused an uproar among aviation specialists.

They pointed out that it was taken when the plane was in mid-flight and identified the airline.

Air Guilin issued a statement on Monday confirming that the unnamed pilot had violated air safety rules.

Seems the Russians haven’t learnt their lesson either..

Russian pilot 'lets a woman passenger take the controls of aircraft that can carry 50 people.

The pilot's voice is heard giving the instructions to the passenger who is believed to be in her late 20s and without flying qualifications.

Reports say the flight was with Russian airline InAero involving an Antonov-24 flight from Yakutsk to Batagai.

I dunno, she's looking at the flight instruments instead of looking outside and is moving the yoke in very small increments. Newbies tend to over control and look outside in the process. Who knows? I sure don't.

Cheers,
Grog

P.S. By the way, she's a hot babe, so anything is possible.

He's been named and shamed already and banned for life with license revoked. Rest of the crew suspended 12 months and even some management given a severe financial penalty. I bet every Chinese airline's Safety Department is hammering this down every pilots throat right now. They love to make an example.

How could you NOT look at the instruments??!? They almost obscure the entire windscreen!

Bonus points for the suction mount phone holder!
