Falcon Runaway Trim
Never flew the 737 but the 727 had a Stab trim brake.
All you had to do was oppose runaway trim motion with the yoke and the brake would stop all stabilizer motion.
You could then troubleshoot and release the brake when you had isolated the problem.
Never had it happen in real life but practiced in the sim a few times.
