CX170 PER - HGK - diverts to Bali
Being reported on SMH - A Cathay Pacific aircraft flying from Perth to Hong Kong reportedly caught fire mid-flight, forcing it to make an emergency landing in Bali.
A man is reported to have contacted ABC News saying his brother was on board the flight when there was a "loud bang and sparks and flames".
The cabin was then reported to have gone dark.
The man said about 15 minutes later the captain reported a problem with one of the engines.
The pilot diverted flight CX170 to Indonesia.
The plane has landed safely
