Nice story, apart from the fact your header is 100% wrong. The off-duty pilot didn't land anything, and why would he when the skipper is still occupying the LH seat?

So did Denny Fitch albeit the Plane he was on, wasn't very well!!! (Sioux City DC-10)......Journalists eh!!

I would have expected the OP to have actually read the article before posting here with a misleading header. Plenty of clues the off-duty pilot did not handle the controls ...
