VLM fire at EGCC

Mate was a PAX on the 6:55 VLM flight to London City at 6:55 today - full evacuation just before take-off run. No one hurt from what I can gather but loads of delay I would guess given the position of the Fokker F-50 when it caught fire.

From my mate's report it smelt like an electrical fire and was coming from the rear of the plane. Sounds like a close shave as they were ready to depart when they called for the evac. Wouldn't have wanted to be in the air when it happened :-(

I'm normally on this flight with my mate so looks like a long lie in was the right idea today :-)

Sounds like good work by all concerned - quick and efficient evac.

Mac.
