Thumbs down DCA: Limited to unidirectional landings and departures!!!

Reagan National Airport in Washington DC (DCA) is closed indefinitely. According to the Washington Post, the Department of Transportation yesterday indicated that when scheduled operations resume, all landings an departures must be from the south. The effect of this is to convert the airport into a part-time operation, in which planes would land and depart within acceptable limits for landing and departing with tail winds.

Departures and approachs to and from the north will be banned because the routing nearly overflies the Pentagon, and is but a short distance from the White House and Capitol.

Isn't this what happens at FLR (Firenze) all the time 'cos of the mountains at one end?
