You cannot keep them down, more leaping scrap iron, this ones getting better or is it braver? He certainly is exercising that tail-skid lol..

NutLoose, seemed tail heavy but at least he was thinking about rolling over onto his side with the long bar thru the rear wheels

He clearly takes a moment to say a prayer or two before the action starts! Must have had plenty of green paint left over from respraying his car(complete with go faster spoiler) and decided to have a helicopter in matching colours!

So what are his controls controlling? Nothing go up to the main rotor.

Problem 1: he is missing about 100 horsepower --> instant RPM losse on pitching up
Problem 2: for some reason tail rotor authority is not enough
Problem 3: CG is way back

but other than that his got a lot of things right
  • a well balanced rotor head
  • some cyclic controls (spider type inside the shaft)
  • a robust design
  • anti roll over bars
  • and some fuel

What they are hoping for is a technically savvy government minister will give them a big development grant which will keep them in clover for years.

this last guy just looks like he took a Kyosho model and upscaled everything.

i give all these guys credit for trying
little late though as Igor Sikorsky was in this same boat many years ago with his creations
he fared better than some of them though

Not a helicopter pilot, just fixed-wing SEP.
But that guy looks experienced, (and experienced in that particular aircraft) and that helicopter looks well designed and built, by an experienced engineer.

Not sure the Chinese guy is a trained pilot. Anyone think he doesn’t know about avoid curve and vortex ring,
commendable as his achievement is.

Here's what a guy down in Oz built and taught himself to fly. Pretty amazing.

I'm not sure who's braver, the pilot or the poor cameraman who was asked to film his takeoff.
